Anders’s paternal grandparents were Elmer Gustaf Holm, Jr. (the son of Elmer Gustaf Holm and Floyd Alice Torgerson) and Gertrude L. Anderson (the daughter of Christian M. Anderson and Emma Strand). Anders’s great-grandfather Elmer was of Swedish descent. Floyd was of Norwegian ancestry. Christian and Emma were both born in Minnesota, both of them to Norwegian parents.
